Job Title: Shipping/ Receiving Forklift Operator
Reports To: Warehouse Manager
Position Details
Receives inbound shipments of raw materials and finished goods and prepares product for shipment. Also maintains partial pallet area and restacks pallets to make full shipments.
Education and Experience Requirements
1. High School or equivalent.
2. One year forklift experience required.
3. Minimum six months experience with shipping/receiving role.
4. . Must be in (current) von Drehle role for at least 6 months to post for promotion within same department.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
1. Ability to climb, stoop, reach, bend on continuous basis; 55 pound minimum lifting.
2. Visual acuity and verbal communications skills.
3. Self-motivated, good work ethic.
4. Knowledge of shipping and receiving operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and Company safety rules and regulations; communicate as appropriate.
- Maintain, sort and keep organized the partial pallet area.
- Restack partial pallets of product to make full pallets for shipment.
- Receive incoming shipments by unloading, unpacking, examining for accurate quantity and routing to proper area.
- Ensure paperwork is accurate and note any discrepancies to supervisor.
- Ensure stock rotation of incoming/outgoing product. Ensure proper staging of product.
- Operate clamp truck and forklift to transport and hoist materials in a safe manner.
- Receive and process any defective items returned for replacement or credit.
- Replace or repair damaged goods received in a unit with first quality product before staging for shipment.
- Pull / prepare products for shipment, ensuring proper packaging and unit counts as required.
- Operate stretch wrap machine as needed.
- Ensure minimum product waste and maintain work area neat and clean.
- Adhere to Company policy and procedure.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.
