Description
The Metal Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, fabricating and finishing metal components and products according to technical drawings and specifications. This role involves working with a variety of tools and equipment to ensure high-quality assembly and adherence to safety standards. Other attributes include strong technical skills, attention to detail, and experience in a manufacturing or metalworking environment.
Requirements
Qualifications Required :
High school diploma or Equivalent. Technical certifications in welding, machining, or metal fabrication are a plus.
Ability to read English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
1-2 years metal fabrication, welding, or assembly in a manufacturing environment.
General knowledge of PLC-Driven Machinery.
Proficiency in ready and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with metalworking tools and machinery.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
Assembly & Fabrication : Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and work orders to assemble metal components according to specifications. Operate various tools that include, but are not limited to hammers, screwdrivers, power drills, pneumatic tooling.
Quality Control : Inspect metal parts and assemblies for defects, ensuring that finished products meet quality standards and specifications. Make adjustments or repairs as needed to maintain quality.
Equipment Operation : Operate and maintain machinery and tools required for fabrication and assembly. Perform routine checks and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Safety Compliance : Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, always wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Identify and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions.
Documentation : Maintain accurate records of production, including work orders, maintenance logs, and inventory usage. Report any discrepancies or issues to the Team Lead.
Collaboration : Work closely with other technicians, supervisors and the Metal Fabrication Team Lead to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects. Assist in training new team members as needed.
Perform other duties assigned by the Department Supervisor or Manager.
