Summary

As a Theater Box Office Associate, you will be essential in providing outstanding customer service and managing ticket sales for our theater. This role involves handling ticket transactions, assisting patrons with inquiries, and ensuring a smooth ticketing process. You will utilize core skills in cash handling and customer interaction, while your premium skills in problem-solving and communication will enhance the overall guest experience. Additionally, your relevant skills in event coordination and familiarity with theater operations will support the success of our performances and events. One part of this postion may be done remotely and this includes building events in the ticketing systems, returning calls that come into the box office phone, and running reports. The second componet of this position requires on-site attendance at the theater ninety minutes prior to the start of any peformance and remaining on-site until fifteen minutes after the performance commences. Responsibilits include selling tickets, checking in guests as needed, managing volunteers and answering attendees questions.

Box Office Management

· Take and process ticket orders during regular business hours (hours to be determined)

· Answer all incoming calls and return all calls on the designated ticket office phone line.

· Oversee the daily, weekly, monthly and annual ticket orders and generate accompanying reports

· Process subscription orders, single ticket sales, ticket exchanges and/or refunds, and ticket donation requests in an efficient and timely manner.

· Sell new and renewal subscriptions, gift certificates, and related items.

· Sell and refund ticket orders include taking charge card or other payment information from patrons, which must be maintained in strict confidence.

· Make outgoing calls to patrons regarding program or event changes and new services or offerings as necessary.

· Provide daily updates to the Director of Finance to ensure ticket sales and organizational accounting systems align.

· Identify and troubleshoot customer service issues to provide the fastest and most positive resolution for the customer.

· Provide helpful information to patrons, including suggestions for events, performances, price

o options, parking options, directions, restaurants and access for patrons with disabilities.

· Guide patrons through their online interactions with Marco Island Center for the Arts website.

· Ensure the fulfillment of house seats, comps, and trade requests, as needed.

· Create lists of performance attendees with corresponding seating charts and email to box office prior to each performance

· Keep records of customer feedback.

Manage all patron contact information and mailing list to assist marketing in the pulling of all patron information for mailer

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service skills and a friendly demeanor
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Basic knowledge of theater operations and ticketing systems
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 22 per week
