We are looking for a Sales Specialist to join our dynamic team in our Tulsa, OK locations.
Our Sales Specialists are responsible for providing presale support and after sale support to customers and branch staff by researching specification material and recommending products for specific application. Additional duties include producing quotations for assigned products, doing take-offs from blueprints for plan & spec jobs, interpreting specifications, configuring equipment, and providing design services for customers.
What you will be doing:
Customer Interaction
- Provide excellent customer service through timely customer interaction, problem resolution or escalation with effective and efficient follow-up.
- Support valued business relationships in all dealings with related departments aiming to resolve customer and other issues in a timely manner. Approaches peers and customers with a spirit of positive problem resolution
Commercial
- Provide pre-sale support for assigned products. Includes researching specification material and recommending products for specific application.
- Produce quotations for assigned products in a timely manner. Includes phone and e-mail requests from external and internal customers. Enters quotes using company enterprise software.
- Read blueprints for plan & spec jobs, interpreting specifications, as needed
- Perform take-offs from blueprints for plan & spec jobs. Interprets specifications and crosses them to products that the company sells.
- Configure equipment to meet job specifications using vendor software programs.
- Provide submittal sheets, dimensional information, and technical information for equipment quoted.
- Provide design services for customers such as Heat Load Calculation and In Floor Radiant design using specified programs. Reads of mechanical blueprints and interprets information such as building materials, insulation factors, and dimensions.
- Travel to job sites to provide design assistance, size products, and troubleshoot problems as needed
- Assist with the development of selection guides, cheat sheets, cross reference material, and other tools to be used by staff to help make product selection and quoting easier.
- Monitor local and national codes to ensure that the company is stocking and quoting the correct products.
- Effectively lead vendor price negotiations on key commercial products.
General
- Maintain a library of reference material relating to product information, specifications, installations, operation, and theory
- Process orders including changing status, procuring product, produces sign-off sheets, lines up deliveries, and communicates with customers, branch delivery staff, and credit department.
- Communicate with sales staff and/or customers for status reports on various jobs quotes. Communicates dealer issues with department Manager. Identifies stocking issues with department manager.
- Recommend stocking and pricing strategy based on competitive market conditions and company profit goals.
- Create new part numbers and enters information into enterprise software.
- Assist Customer Service and Warehouse with staging jobs to ensure appropriate equipment, components and accessories are all accounted, bundled if needed and shipped as requested.
Preferred Job Requirements
- 5 or more years’ experience with design, sales support, technical support and blueprint reading or related functions.
Minimum Job Requirements
- High School diploma or its GED equivalent
- 3 or more years’ experience with design, sales support, technical support and blueprint reading or related functions.
- Ability to read a set of mechanical blueprints and interpret information such as building materials, insulation factors, and dimensions
- Knowledge of MS Office applications as needed to satisfactorily perform work assignments – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint as well as have the ability to learn company enterprise systems as needed.
- Aptitude for mathematical operations and numerical analysis.
- Use computers, photocopiers, fax machines, scanners, and phone systems relative to the needs of the job.
- Minimum keyboarding skills of 40 words per minute.
