We are looking for a Warehouse associate to join our dynamic team at our Lenexa branch!
Our Warehouse Associates are responsible for performing warehouse related functions of handling merchandise and product incoming or outgoing including shipping, receiving, transferring, stocking, picking, and pulling product for customers, vendors, and branch locations as required.
As a Warehouse Associate, you’ll be processing both in-coming and out-going product, filling sales orders, transferring product, and setting up product for customer pick-up. You’ll be working in departments like shipping, receiving, and transfers by unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders, and working with the counter sales team to set up orders. In this job, you’ll be moving merchandise between departments while you learn how to properly handle an order and learn operating procedures.
You will adequately assist in counting of physical inventory. As a Warehouse Associate, you will be responsible for properly following procedures relating to checking and double-checking merchandise and the proper reporting of errors. You will also be responsible for inspecting all incoming freight for damage and for accuracy in quantities compared to the bill of lading and packing slips when required.
As a Warehouse team member, you will conduct safe work processes and compliance with company safety procedures including but not limited to compressed gas tank handling, and two-man lift procedures will be required of this position. This includes wearing proper safety gear and equipment that you will receive on your first day of employment. You will also conduct facility and vehicle maintenance duties as directed. You will be responsible for promptly reporting injuries, accidents, and incidences, and correctly completes proper paperwork in reporting so.
- High School diploma or its GED equivalent.
- 1-2 years’ experience with warehousing and related functions.
- High degree of personal ethics, customer service, and commitment to safety.
- Knowledge of MS Office applications as needed to satisfactorily perform work assignments – Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
- Must be able to work independently and at times discreetly, use sound judgment, and make thoughtful decisions in a timely manner.
- Must be able to work effectively in group settings through collaborative, solutions oriented, and win-win approaches.
