Job Description
The Cashier is responsible for creating a positive and efficient checkout experience for our customers. This role involves processing transactions, assisting with customer inquiries, and maintaining a welcoming environment at the front of our store. Ideal candidates will enjoy interacting with people, have strong attention to detail, and be able to multitask in a busy environment. This position requires standing for extended periods and occasional assistance with stocking, organizing, and merchandising duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and provide assistance to enhance their shopping experience.
- Efficient Checkout: Accurately scan items, process payments, and handle returns or exchanges to ensure a smooth checkout process.
- Product Knowledge: Develop familiarity with store products, current promotions, and seasonal offerings to assist customers effectively.
- Phone Assistance: Answer phones promptly, respond to customer inquiries, and take accurate messages for other team members as needed.
- Cash Handling: Maintain accurate cash handling practices, balance the register at the end of shifts, and ensure the security of all transactions.
- Store Organization: Help keep the checkout area clean and organized, restock bags, and maintain supplies as needed.
- Inventory and Pricing Checks: Assist with labeling, pricing, or stocking merchandise to ensure products are properly displayed.
- Training Completion: Participate in required training sessions such as Point of Sale (POS) training, Customer Service Best Practices, and Safety Training.
