Position Overview:
Marcus Engineering is seeking a lead embedded hardware engineer to join our engineering team and lead a group of 3-5 embedded software and hardware engineers. This role involves owning technical work, guiding the team through execution, interfacing with customers to generate requirements, structuring projects and budgets, and being a key technical contributor to challenging projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- System Architecture Design: Own the design and implementation of system architecture, with support from the operations team while leading junior engineers, ensuring alignment with project goals and customer needs.
- Technical Team Leadership and Mentorship: Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, supporting them to own constrained system problems with your guidance.
- Project Lifecycle Ownership: Own the project lifecycle from technical sales and quoting through to on-time, on-budget completion, ensuring all phases meet company standards and client expectations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with and lead various disciplines—electrical, mechanical, software, and others—to ensure cohesive and efficient project progress.
- Technical Breadth and Depth: Broad experience across embedded software and hardware, with anchoring expertise in at least one area and the ability to dive deep into technical subjects.
- Proposal Writing and Program Management: Participate in proposal writing and expand your scope, contributing to the overall success of the company.

- Deep experience in embedded software and hardware.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and standards in the medical device sector (or another regulated sector, such as automotive, aerospace, military, industrial, etc.).

- Demonstrated ability in managing complex projects, meeting deadlines, and adapting to changing priorities.
