This seasonal summer camp position offers flexible scheduling. We operate from May 27th – August 8th. While camp hours are generally 9 : 00 AM to 4 : 00 PM, Monday through Friday, we are happy to discuss various options with qualified candidates. We’re seeking compassionate individuals with a medical background (CNA, RN, or equivalent) who have a genuine passion for working with children. In this essential role, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring the health and well-being of both campers and staff. As the Day Camp Nurse, you’ll operate the Health Center, administering medications, offering treatment for illnesses and injuries, and acting as a vital link between parents, camp staff, directors, and healthcare providers. Your primary focus will be on creating and maintaining a safe and healthy camp environment for all participants, making your role integral to the overall well-being of our camp community.
Requirements :
Medical Background (CAN, RN, or equivalent)
Skills :
- Proven ability to work effectively with children, including those with additional needs (with their dedicated supervisor support).
- Proficiency in administering medications, first aid, CPR, and epinephrine auto-injector (EpiPen) administration.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with parents, camp staff, directors, and healthcare providers.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain detailed logs of camper care, manage the health center, and ensure adequate supplies.
- Ability to learn and comply with MJCCA Day Camps medical policies and procedures.
- Professionalism and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
