We are currently looking for General Group Counselors, Theme Camp Staff for Art & Tech Camps, Sports Camp Counselors, and Travel Camp Counselors!

Summary of Job Description :
This is a summer-only position as a member of MJCCA Day Camps staff. Working at camp requires lots of energy, creativity, professionalism and willingness with a group of people towards the common goal of creating a simply amazing day camp program.
Job Functions and Responsibilities : Specific duties include but are not limited to the following...
- Care and supervision of campers
- Understand and are capable of being in the heat and be able to stand or walk the majority of the workday.
- Work with campers and other staff members to accomplish goals of camp
- Assist campers in case of emergency
- Must have visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to camp activities
- Act in the best interest of MJCCA Day Camps and be a role model for campers regarding behavior, language and conduct.
- Development and implementation of programs including rainy day activities, special events, unit programs.
- Keep camper and parent information confidential
- Responsible for keeping camp / surrounding facilities clean and any equipment or supplies used during the camp day.
- Participation in activities with campers and assisting with leading activities when needed.
- Ensuring that campers maintain good hygiene, health, and safety practices
- Attendance at Staff Meetings, Unit Meetings, Camp Orientation
- Customer Service—demonstrating professional conduct to all camp families and guests
- Swimming / getting in the pool with the campers once or twice a day as required
- Attendance each day, unless approved by immediate supervisor
- Arrive to camp on time and can leave once the camp day has ended
- Comply with the camp dress code, including wearing closed-toed shoes, appropriate shorts, official camp shirt
- Must possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers
- Communicate with Supervisor on camper and co-counselor related issues
- Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of a Camp Director
- Adhering to all policies outlined in the Staff Handbook
