Job Description
The Busser plays a vital role in supporting the front-of-house team by maintaining clean and organized tables, assisting servers, and ensuring a smooth dining experience for guests. They are responsible for clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables efficiently while helping maintain a tidy and well-stocked dining area.
Key Responsibilities
Table Maintenance & Cleanliness:
- Clear tables promptly after guests leave, removing used plates, glassware, and utensils.
- Reset tables quickly and according to restaurant standards.
- Assist with pre-bussing by removing empty plates and glasses during service.
- Ensure all table settings are clean and properly arranged.
Guest Service Support:
- Provide water service and refill glasses as needed.
- Assist guests with minor requests when servers are unavailable.
- Work closely with servers and food runners to maintain a smooth service flow.
Dining Room Organization:
- Maintain cleanliness in the dining room, including sweeping floors and wiping down chairs.
- Ensure service stations are stocked with napkins, silverware, and other essentials.
- Help manage high-volume service by keeping tables turning efficiently.
General Duties:
- Assist with side work such as polishing glassware and folding napkins.
- Follow health and safety regulations for food handling and sanitation.
- Support opening and closing duties as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Positive attitude and teamwork-oriented mindset.
- Previous experience as a busser or in a restaurant setting is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to move quickly and efficiently in a busy environment.
