Job Description
The Food Runner is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate delivery of food from the kitchen to guests. They play a crucial role in maintaining the flow of service by assisting servers, communicating with the kitchen, and ensuring that each dish is presented according to restaurant standards.
Key Responsibilities
Food Delivery & Presentation:
- Deliver food orders from the kitchen to guests quickly and accurately.
- Ensure each dish is presented properly, garnished correctly, and served at the correct temperature.
- Communicate with servers to verify table numbers, special requests, and modifications.
- Assist with running large orders and coordinating with other food runners when necessary.
Guest Interaction & Service Support:
- Confirm that guests receive everything they need with their meal, including condiments and side dishes.
- Provide brief descriptions of dishes when serving to enhance the dining experience.
- Address minor guest requests and notify servers or management of any issues.
Coordination & Teamwork:
- Communicate with the kitchen and expo staff to ensure smooth service flow.
- Assist in expediting and organizing orders in the kitchen.
- Support servers by clearing tables, refilling drinks, and resetting tables when needed.
General Duties:
- Maintain a clean and organized service station.
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met.
- Assist with stocking and replenishing plates, silverware, and napkins.
Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in food delivery.
- Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.
- Lift and carry up to 25-50 lbs.
