OVERVIEW

The Deli Team Member will ensure that the department in our market is fully and beautifully stocked with the highest quality meats and cheeses and hand-make world class I gotta have it sandwiches in Denver. Our Deli Team plays an essential role in delivering excellence and consistency in service to our customers each day by actively engaging with them, answering questions, and making recommendations. While experience is always appreciated, we hire for attitude and aptitude while training for excellence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
- Greets customers as they approach the deli and offers assistance as needed
- Takes customer orders in a friendly and helpful manner, and ensures that customer specifications are clearly understood
- Performs preparation of product (charcuterie items, sandwiches, catering trays) to customer specifications, and makes product ready for sale (packaging, labeling, ensuring correct price)
- Produces Marczyk deli made to order sandwich menu in an urgent and attractive manner
- Channels customer feedback and product suggestions to the General Manager
- Offers recipe suggestions, substitutions, and adjustments to customers as needed
- Actively sells charcuterie items in a confident, knowledgeable, and friendly manner
- Proactively offers product samples to customers
- Ensures that all charcuterie items are stored in a manner that provides optimal freshness and presentation of product
- Maintains par levels for sandwich meats and cheeses and keeps the block stocked with vegetables and sauces
- As needed, cooks or heats product in the oven to food safe temperatures and in accordance with Marczyk expectations of quality
- Assists Product Flow Manager in putting away orders and effectively rotating stock for optimal freshness of product
- Communicates with other departments to mitigate waste and helps with other tasks as necessary
- Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all food and work safety guidelines as mandated by local and state health departments as well as Marczyks food and work safety policies
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to repetitively lift 50lbs, bend, stoop, and stand for long periods of time.
- Constant arm, hand, wrist motion, and standing
- Comfortable with handling knives and box cutters
QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience in Deli Counter, Restaurant Food Prep, and/or Customer Service preferred
- Prior experience with knives, slicers, ovens, and other food prep equipment preferred
- Ability to easily engage and interact with the public by providing the best customer experience
- Ability to work quickly, take initiative, and work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills in a fast-paced customer-oriented work environment.
- Able to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Prioritizes tasks appropriately and can re-prioritize with ease
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work effectively within a diverse group of people

HOURLY RATE: $20/hr to $23/hr DOE
