MARE’s Mission:
At MARE, we connect children and teens in foster care to permanent and adoptive families. MARE is a non-profit agency with more than 65 years working in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF) to mobilize and support a compassionate community of individuals, families, and supporters ready to respond and provide the live-giving connections that children and youth in foster care need. We exist to help children and teens who wait the longest in foster care without permanency to find life-long connections with adoptive families and their communities. MARE specializes in the recruitment of permanent and adoptive families for teens, children of color, sibling groups, LGBTQ identified youth, and those with complex medical and developmental needs.
Position Summary:
The Development and Community Engagement Associate furthers the agency’s mission by providing administrative, event planning and media/production support to the Development and Communications departments. The Associate serves as the administrator for the donor management system and is responsible for tracking and acknowledging all gifts. The Associate serves as coordinator for the production of waiting child professional photos, Videosnapshots and amplified profiles. The Associate manages placement with print and television media partners, and supports social media strategy and content. Additionally, the Associate provides overall administrative and operational support to the organization.

The Development & Community Engagement Associate will have many of the following qualifications:
· Minimum of three years of relevant development, communications and/or event planning experience
· Experience working in a non-profit, mission driven organization
· Bachelors Degree
· Excellent verbal and written communications skills
· Strong relationship building skills, including comfort working cross-departmentally and engaging directly with volunteers and community partners
· Exceptional organizational skills, ability to manage competing priorities
· Track record of successful project management, follow through and attention to detail
· Ability to track and execute donor and stakeholder engagement plans
· Experience with data systems, data entry and reporting (experience with Salesforce preferred, as well as Hubspot, Classy, ClickUp, Microsoft)
· Proficiency with social media strategy and implementation (Fb, IG, Linked In)
· Commitment to contributing to a workplace culture of diversity, equity and inclusion
· Mission-driven and share’s MARE’s urgency for finding permanency for all children and teens in foster care, through innovation, compassion and collaboration.
· Motivated to help mobilize a compassionate community of advocates for MARE’s work
· A valid driver’s license, access to a car, and the ability to work occasional evening and weekend events is required.
