About The Position
We are looking for a Plant Quality Engineer to join the Pulaski Quality team, reporting directly to the Quality Manager].
This position is based at our office in Pulaski TN.
As the Plant Quality Engineer at Marelli, you will be responsible to implement QA procedures for Nissan project.
Your Responsibilities Will Be
- Responsible to implement the QA procedures in the shop floor: 1st piece approval /Control Plan/Visual Aids
- Support QA Shop coordinator to implement the statistic process control and drive kaizen activity to improve characteristics
- Coordinate the improvements of control plan using occurrence and release (O&R) methodology
- Implement and proceed reverse PFMEA (RFMEA) activities in the floor
- Support the team with kaizen activities to improve FTQ performances
- Lead the team to eliminate external firewall activities from the plant by improving plant QA gate performances
- Support to implement error proofing and poka-yokes on the process with focus on scrap reduction
- Develop preventive and proactive systems to reduce and eliminate sources of quality risks and potential issues
- Integrate the MMS QC pillar with focus on preventive and proactive approach
- Develop preventive and proactive QA matrix
- Develop preventive QA Network
- Desired Engineering degree (desired Mechanical, Aerospace, Production, Industrial, Chemical)
- Minimum 2 years Quality department (automotive/ aerospace industry)
- Desired ISO TS 16949 internal auditor certification
- SAP system experience
- Problem Solving
- MMS experience
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, Total Quality Management (TQM), failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and statistical process control (SPC). Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) such as ISO 9001 is also important.
- Attention to Detail: A meticulous eye for detail to detect inconsistencies or deviations from quality standards in products or processes.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data and interpret results to identify trends, patterns, and root causes of quality issues. This involves using statistical techniques and software tools.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Proficiency in identifying problems and developing effective solutions to improve quality processes and products.
- Project Management: Skills to manage quality assurance projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring of project timelines and deliverables.
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey quality standards, processes, and findings to a variety of stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and supply chain, to resolve quality issues and implement improvements.
- Process Improvement: Skills to identify opportunities for process optimization and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Risk Assessment: Ability to evaluate potential risks related to product quality and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
