We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our small, dedicated team.
Position Overview:
As an Optometric Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our optometrists and ensuring a smooth patient experience. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about healthcare and enjoys working in a patient-focused environment. In this role, you will assist with a variety of clinical tasks, including patient care, testing, and billing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and prepare patients for eye exams, gathering medical history.
- Perform preliminary testing (e.g. autorefraction, NCT, lensometry and retinal imaging).
- Operate and maintain optometric equipment.
- Document and update patient records in our electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling and patient inquiries.
- Verification of insurance benefits and billing of exams only
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an optometric technician or in a healthcare-related role is a plus but not required.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, patient-focused attitude.
- Comfortable working with medical equipment and technology.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
- Knowledge of EHR software is beneficial but not required.
- Spanish speaker preferred (Ability to communicate with Spanish-speaking patients is highly desirable).
