We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Engineering to oversee the property's facilities maintenance function. The Director of Engineering will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, service, and repair of on-site equipment. The ideal candidate will direct and supervise the Maintenance staff as requested by the General Manager and lead a team responsible for the maintenance of buildings and grounds, including renovations, expansions, and improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the property's facilities maintenance function, including the operation, maintenance, service, and repair of equipment on site.
- Direct and supervise the Maintenance staff as requested by the General Manager.
- Lead a team responsible for the maintenance of buildings and grounds, including renovations, expansions, and improvements.
- Ensure that all maintenance work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures to ensure the safety and comfort of guests and associates.
- Manage the department's budget and ensure that all expenses are within budgetary guidelines.
- Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and serviced to prevent breakdowns and downtime.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards.
- Ensure that all work is completed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Provide regular reports to the General Manager on the status of maintenance work and departmental performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, with at least 3 years in a management role.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to direct and supervise a team of maintenance professionals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with associates at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex maintenance issues.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to facilities maintenance.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and climbing ladders.
