As a Pool Server, you will be responsible for ensuring that guests are well taken care of in a fun and relaxing environment. Your role will involve taking food and beverage orders, delivering them promptly, and maintaining a positive atmosphere for families and other resort visitors. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, enjoy working in an outdoor setting, and have the ability to multitask while delivering top-notch service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests at the poolside with a warm, friendly, and welcoming attitude.
- Take food and beverage orders from poolside guests, ensuring accurate and timely entry into the system.
- Serve food and drinks to poolside guests, ensuring presentation and quality meet resort standards.
- Ensure guests have everything they need, including menu suggestions, special requests, and refills.
- Monitor poolside activity to ensure guest satisfaction, comfort, and safety.
- Keep the pool area clean and organized by clearing tables, resetting chairs, and ensuring that all trash is disposed of promptly.
- Communicate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate preparation of orders.
- Upsell food and beverage specials, and encourage guests to try new menu items.
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure guest health and safety.
- Handle cash and process guest payments accurately, including credit card transactions.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down poolside service areas, including replenishing supplies.
- Provide assistance to other departments as needed, such as assisting guests with pool towels or directions around the resort.
- Maintain a positive and calm demeanor when dealing with guests, even during busy or stressful times.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food service, preferably in a resort, hotel, or hospitality environment.
- Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
- Knowledge of resort amenities and family-friendly activities.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Basic math skills and familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- A valid food handler’s certification and/or alcohol service permit, depending on local regulations (or willingness to obtain).
