What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender/Mixologist position at Margeaux Supper Parlor?
Margeaux Supper Parlor is currently hiring for front of house staff. They are seeking a responsible, curious, detail orientated, and dedicated individual who is comfortable in any front of house position, whether it be behind the bar, on the floor taking tables, or hosting an exclusive private event.
- Would describe yourself as someone who does not quit “until the job is done, and done well”
- Take pride in each cocktail you make & each dish you serve at the table
- Are familiar with the city of New Orleans, and / or its rich history in cocktails & food
- Understand the nuances of serving cocktails in a hotel’s restaurant & bar, and how the hospitality and conversation might be different than other types of establishments
- Have humility & compassion during your shifts, supporting the larger restaurant FOH team as needed, even if it means waiting on tables. You care about the betterment of the team as a whole.
- Enjoy working with managers / supervisors who are eager to get nerdy about specs, mouth feel, balance, technique, etc. with you, and who want to hone those passions of yours
- Have a personal collection of several mixology & cocktail related texts (even if they’ve collected some dust on your bookshelf recently)
- Genuinely enjoy visiting new bars in the city for the sake of critiquing, and learning from, their own bar programs & menus
Currently, this is a part time position with a very real opportunity to become full time. Margeaux Supper Parlor hosts a variety of events on site, in addition to serving brunch & dinner service. Margeaux currently closes at 9pm during the week (Thursdays at 10pm), and 11 : 30pm on Fridays & Saturdays.
