What are the responsibilities and job description for the Restaurant Manager position at Mari?
Mari, Sister restaurant of One Michelin-starred restaurant Kochi located in Hell's Kitchen. We are looking to hire a passionate and experienced manager who wants to grow together in the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate should be an individual who has exceptional knowledge of food & beverage and of standards of service particularly in fine dining restaurants. Knowledge of korean food and in-depth beverage knowledge would be a plus. We are looking for an individual who can professionally work with the chef, and lead the front of the house team and meld the two into one enthusiastic team. We are looking to grow internally, as we are planning to expand with different concepts and ideas.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Overall management of the front of house operation
- Assist the management team in day to day operations as well as administrative duties
- Implement service and culinary standards, conducting regular evaluations to ensure consistency and excellence in all offerings
- Handle schedules and hours of the team
- Handle weekly payroll
- Hire and train the team to uphold company policies and standards
- Maintain and ensure compliances with all regulations of New York City’s health and safety protocol
- Work with the Executive Chef/CDC to create a well organized service
- Knowledgeable with HR regulations
- Forecast daily operations and manage P&L
- Maintain company's standards and implement new sop
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience in a management position in hospitality
- Open-availability including all major holidays
- 4 years of having high end-high volume front of house experience
- Having Michelin starred restaurant experience is a requirement
- A genuine passion and knowledge for food, wine and service
- Knowledge and appreciation of Korean cuisine and seasonal cuisine is a plus
- A strong sense of urgency and strong communication skill
- Able to take constructive criticism, learn quickly, and constantly improve
- Must be meticulously clean and aware of all food safety standards
