Position Summary
The Clinical Lead RN is a role developed to work in coordination with Behavioral Health leadership to ensure work is accomplished accurately, effectively, and efficiently. The Clinical Lead RN is the first line support for staff, physicians, and other related providers on service-specific clinical issues. The Clinical Lead RN collaborates with the Nurse Manager on clinical and non-clinical issues (employee relations, individual behaviors, physician relationships, etc.). The Clinical Lead RN is the support for the unit / department / service when the Nurse Manager is unavailable. The Clinical Lead RN is responsible for supervising, directing, coaching, and mentoring their assigned core group of staff.
Reports to : Adult Behavioral Health Nurse Manager
Responsibilities of the Position
Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.
Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
Required Education
Associate degree in nursing is required – BSN is preferred.
