Marian High School in Mishawaka is seeking qualified applicants for the position of (tentatively entitled) Assistant Principal for Leadership & Success. The start date of the position is 1 July 2025.
The Assistant Principal for Institutional, Student, and Professional Success serves a multifaceted role and is a key member of the School’s Leadership Team. The individual will be responsible, along with the Associate Principal for Academic Affairs and Principal, for monitoring and enhancing the quality of instruction while enhancing opportunities for student success.
The position is also responsible for collaborating with other members of the Leadership Team in the overall professional formation and evaluation of instructional personnel. Finally, in support of Admissions and Enrollment Management operations, the position will play a key role in collaborating on Admissions decisions, initial student academic placement, and ensuring that entering students’ transitions to Marian are successful.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Bringing a parent and student service focus to their responsibilities.

Developing and maintaining course placement guidelines for entering students in collaboration with the Associate Principal for Academic Affairs and Department Chairs.

Collaborating with the Principal, the Director of Enrollment Management, the Enrollment Management team, and the Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs in determining initial course placements for entering ninth grade students.

Collaborates with the Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs and Department Chairs to determine advanced placement in core courses for entering freshmen, including but not limited to Mathematics, Science, and World Languages.

Collaborates with the Director of Enrollment Management and the Enrollment Management team, as well as with the Associate Principal for Academic Affairs and Guidance team as necessary, in determining course placements and compliance with potential graduation pathways for transfer students.

Directly overseeing and evaluating Guidance, College Placement, and Registrar operations.

Collaborates with the Principal and Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs in planning and facilitating professional formation opportunities for instructional staff.

Monitoring new student progress through a student’s first year at Marian to assist with transition issues, to monitor academic progress, and to assist in facilitating/supporting in the academic, cocurricular, and spiritual life of the Marian community.

Overseeing Marian’s adoption of a new accreditation protocol, ensuring the smooth integration of the School with the Lumen program.

Supports and enforces School and Diocesan policies as well as Safe Environment guidelines, safety protocols, and local, state, and federal laws.

Reflects and supports the uniquely and faithfully Catholic identity of Marian High School.

Collaborates in the development of the School’s calendars, master schedule, and overall policies.

Fulfills additional duties as may be assigned by the Principal.
Qualifications
