Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including vision examinations, diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders, and prescribing corrective lenses. The Optometrist will work closely with patients of all ages, ensuring their ocular health while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and diagnose ocular conditions.
- Prescribe corrective lenses and medications as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and examination results, adhering to HIPAA standards.
- Utilize medical coding systems for documentation and billing purposes.
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the importance of regular eye exams.
- Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies.
- Demonstrate aseptic technique during procedures to ensure patient safety.
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid state optometry license to practice.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to eye care and optometry.
- Familiarity with ophthalmology practices is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
