General Maintenance Worker:
Marianapolis Preparatory School seeks a qualified person to perform general maintenance and
repairs for assigned equipment, facilities, vehicles, and grounds. The hourly rate is commensurate
with experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
- Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs.
- Plans repair work using building layout or equipment manual as needed.
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may
- Performs routine maintenance on building systems, equipment, machines, and vehicles.
- Cleans and assists with the upkeep of the facilities.
- Groundskeeping and landscaping for all seasons.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
- Knowledge of general carpentry and mechanical repair.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Education and Experience:
- Education sufficient to read, write, and speak as needed for the job.
- Related experience preferred.
- Must pass a background check.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and kneeling.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders or crawl into awkward spaces.
- Must be physically able to operate power equipment.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
