Job Overview
The Landscape Procurement Specialist at Botanica plays a crucial role in managing procurement processes, estimating project costs, utilizing Aspire Software, and assessing and making decisions on plant material to be purchased for landscape projects in coordination with Project Managers
Responsibilities and Duties
- Source and negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for landscape materials, plants, and equipment.
- Locate and get necessary approval on any specimen material before procurement.
- Work closely with nurseries to ensure purchased materials meet or exceed the quality standards demanded by Botanica clients.
- Present a weekly Work-in-Progress (WIP) report to the President, comparing purchases with the budget, and providing explanations for any variances.
- Maintain up-to-date records within the software for efficient procurement tracking.
- Collaborate with Project Managersutilizing Aspire Software, to review project specifications and develop accurate cost estimates.
- Utilize the software or other methods for analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive project bids.
- Work closely with Project Managers utilizing Aspire Software, to develop and manage budgets for landscape projects.
- Monitor project costs within the software, identifying cost-saving opportunities and providing regular updates on budget variances.
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with vendors, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Evaluate vendor performance and address any issues or concerns.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions to make informed procurement decisions to ensure competitiveness in bids.
- Collaborate with the Information System Integrator and Controller on best practices, SOPs, and ensure compliance with required reporting.
- Act as a true leader, embodying Botanica's professional and unique culture.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
