Job Summary:
We are looking for a seasoned AWS Cloud Architect & SRE Engineer with an application development background. This role combines cloud architecture design, observability, and reliability engineering with a strong focus on security and performance for a customer-facing application.
The ideal candidate will design and operate scalable AWS cloud infrastructure, build end-to-end observability using tools like Dynatrace, ELK, and Splunk, and leverage their app dev background (Angular, .NET, Postgres, DynamoDB) to quickly detect and resolve frontend/backend performance issues.
Key Responsibilities: Cloud Architecture & Engineering
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient architectures on AWS.
- Build IaC using Terraform for repeatable infrastructure deployment.
- Collaborate with product and dev teams to define cloud-native design patterns.
- Optimize cloud resources for performance, cost-efficiency, and availability.
Site Reliability & Observability
- Develop dashboards and alerts using Dynatrace, ELK (Elastic Stack), and Splunk to monitor application and infra health.
- Monitor frontend performance (e.g., visual completion time in Angular apps) and identify bottlenecks.
- Troubleshoot and tune API/backend performance for .NET applications and PostgreSQL databases.
- Improve system reliability through automation, chaos engineering, and error budgeting practices.
- Participate in on-call support and incident resolution with RCA and continuous improvement.
Security & Compliance
- Design and enforce secure cloud architectures following AWS security best practices.
- Integrate security controls, including IAM policies, VPC security, KMS encryption, WAF, and Secrets Manager.
- Conduct or coordinate penetration testing (pentest) activities and remediate findings.
- Work closely with InfoSec and Dev teams to ensure secure coding practices and vulnerability management.
- Monitor for security anomalies and log events through SIEM integrations (e.g., Splunk).
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as OWASP Top 10, CIS Benchmarks, and internal security policies.
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in AWS Cloud Architecture and SRE/DevOps.
- Application development experience (Angular, .NET, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB).
- Hands-on with observability tools: Dynatrace, ELK Stack, Splunk.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines with Git Actions, Terraform Cloud.
- Strong understanding of SRE principles.
