Data Analyst
Client: Tavant/MLB
Location: NYC, NY (onsite)
All 5days work from office 9am to 5pm Only candidates ready for this arrangement will be considered.
- Data Analysis or Data Analyst work experience
- Understanding of traditional media measurement (Nielsen) and syndicated consumer behavior research (i.e.: Simmons, Scarborough, YouGov) and experience with their analytical platforms preferred.
- Strong proficiency in quantitative data collection and data analysis
- Strong SQL & Python experience
- Google BigQuery experience
- Experience with BI platforms such as Looker, Tableau, or other data visualization software (optional / good to have)
- Education: College/Masters Graduate with a relevant academic major is strongly preferred, though candidates with non-traditional schooling backgrounds and strong relevant experience will be considered.
- Communication: Highly professional
Responsibilities:
Provide analytical support for managing daily reporting of consumption to current and
future MLB owned-and-operated RSNs, including linear viewership and in-market
streaming and subscriptions.
Track and report upon television and streaming viewership of MLB games across
national and local platforms and provide contextual analysis within the sports media and
competitive media landscape.
Produce reports for senior management at The Office of the Commissioner, MLB Clubs,
and MLB Network, including ratings recaps and other analyses at regular intervals.
Build presentations on various topics, including linear television viewership and
advanced analyses on fan behaviors, utilizing available internal and syndicated data
sources to illustrate how the MLB fan base aligns with current and potential corporate
partners.
Provide additional research support on an array of regular and ad hoc projects that
present insights into the consumption habits of the MLB fanbase to business units
across the League office.
Assist in analytical projects aiming to identify engagement trends and determine
causation.
Bring a fresh perspective to all departmental reporting, helping to position analysis in a
creative and concise manner.
Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment.
Required Skills:
2 - 4 years related experience.
College/Masters Graduate with a relevant academic major is strongly preferred, though
candidates with non-traditional schooling backgrounds and strong relevant experience
will be considered.
Highly professional manner with excellent written and verbal communication skills
required.
Understanding of traditional media measurement (Nielsen) and syndicated consumer
behavior research (i.e.: Simmons, Scarborough, YouGov) and experience with their
analytical platforms preferred.
Strong proficiency in quantitative data collection and data analysis using SQL, R, or
Python is required.
Experience working with cloud platforms and related products. Google Cloud Platform, Big Query
experience preferred.
Experience with BI platforms such as Looker, Tableau, or other data visualization
software is a plus.
Ideal candidate will have a low-ego, team-oriented mindset and desire to deliver
effective results.
Previous experience working within the sports and/or media industry is a plu
