Job Summary
This position supports active Career and Technical Education students, primarily Behavioral Health and Human Sciences Students. The role is intended to insure their retention and completion of their degrees, serving as a crucial point of contact as they navigate their academic journey.
The Student Services Assistant will utilize and serve within the CTE division, assisting with program completion and maintaining high retention rates. This position assists with the development, coordination, and implementation of activities to improve student success, and services and activities to improve retention, course completion, graduation, and/or transfer rates.

In order to qualify for a Federal Work-Study (FWS) job, a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be on file for the current award year and have eligible financial needs based on the college requirements. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid for more information prior to applying to a Federal Work-Study job.
- FWS is a need-based, federally funded program.
- FWS requires the completion of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and confirmation of federal work-study eligibility as determined by the financial aid office.
- FWS does not directly pay for tuition, and funds are only available to eligible students attending a minimum of six (6) degree applicable hours in a federal student aid eligible program.
- The FWS award amount is based on your FAFSA results and college funding availability, which will determine the number of hours available to work while supporting the students academic goals.

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Actively pursuing an Associate’s degree, ideally within the Behavioral Science and Human Services field
Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience with data tracking
Experience in customer service environment
Effective written communication and organizational skills
Experience working in a team environment
Desired Qualifications
Experience working on a community college campus
Experience working with SIS (Student Information Systems)
Familiarity with FERPA processes
