About the Position
It's been said, "A picture is worth a thousand words." Through visual moving pictures, you can change the world one reel at a time as our Evidence Specialist! The Evidence Specialist is responsible for reviewing and redacting law enforcement body camera video footage. The Specialist utilizes audio/visual editing programs for auditing and editing digital data. Contribute to the justice system by preserving and presenting facts for the courtroom today!

We Require
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of clerical and administrative experience, including computer use
- Other combinations of education and experience may be considered in substitution for the minimum qualifications
- The Maricopa County Attorney's Office requires a thorough background check of all successful candidates and is authorized to test prospective employees for the presence of illegally accessed drugs. Drug testing is conducted once an offer has been extended and prior to placement.

Job Contributions
- Organizes video files for editing and/or storage; provides quality control, updates, or includes case information into MCAO's case management system, PbK
- Reviews entire body camera video footage to determine what victim information or other specialized information needs to be removed to comply with Victims' rights under Arizona law
- Reviews recording evidence, including BWC evidence, to flag relevant, probative footage frames of either an inculpatory or exculpatory nature for further review by paralegals and prosecuting attorneys
- Follows employee policy and procedures for video redaction in Evidence.com
- Applies legal knowledge to ensure compliance with court rules
- Listens to video camera footage to determine if any audio needs to be redacted for discovery purposes
- Provides documentation regarding the redacted product for review and approval
- Assists Unit attorneys, prosecuting attorneys, and support staff with the use of Evidence.com
- Collaborates with prosecuting attorneys and paralegals to ensure uniformity of procedures and practices Office-wide relating to BWC evidence
- Tracks work statistics for Monthly Reports and other internal office audit reports
Working Conditions
- Work takes place in a typical office setting
- Requires long periods of sitting while completing computer activities
- Must have the ability to travel to and from various County locations for meetings and trainings, utilizing personal or County vehicles
- Must have the ability to lift boxes and/or pull mail cart weighing over 40 pounds
