Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

About the Position
Do pride yourself on going the extra mile to deliver stellar customer service? As our Medical Records Clerk, you will have the opportunity to be one of our clients' first encounters with Maricopa County Clinical Services.
In this role, you will register patients, collect payments, and prepare and maintain the electronic medical records for the clients we serve, following HIPAA guidelines. Your interaction with our clients will create a lasting impression. YOU can make a difference!

We Require
Six months of experience registering patients in an electronic medical records system in a medical settingHigh school diploma or GEDPost-secondary education in a business administration, public administration, public health, healthcare administration, or a health-related field may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basisWe Also Value
Certification as a Public Health or Community Health Worker from an accredited college or currently enrolled in a Public Health or Community Health Worker program and eligible to receive a certification within six months of hireCashiering or cash handling experienceBilingual skills in English and SpanishJob Contributions
Obtains and enters client demographic information into various computer programsEnsures all forms are correctly completed and signed by the clientServes as a cashier at registration by assessing fees and recording transactionsFiles, scans, and assembles medical records, including dictated and miscellaneous documents according to departmental procedureReleases patient information following applicable laws and department policiesPerforms receptionist duties, including greeting, assisting customers, and answering a multi-line phoneReceives payments by cash, check, credit cards, or automatic debitsIssues receipts, refunds, credits, and provides changeCounts money and balances cash drawers at the end of the shiftResponds to requests by researching, locating, retrieving, and delivering records or informationPurges inactive records according to retention schedulesWorking Conditions
