We Require
- Two years of experience performing epidemiological or statistical analysis
- Master’s degree in epidemiology, biostatistics or a closely related public health field

Job Contributions
- Develops and maintains public health surveillance systems related to climate and health including but not limited to environmental heat and air pollution
- Supports the office with complex disease and outbreak investigations, provides County public health guidance, and troubleshoots issues with public health surveillance systems
- Develops protocols for managing datasets and identifies opportunities for improving data quality
- Uses statistical software, such as SAS or R, to analyze public health data and identify significant associations between exposures and outcomes
- Fulfills complex data requests and produces epidemiological reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Supports the development of small-scale public health surveys, sampling methodology, and data management processes
- Provides training to Epidemiologists and Communicable Disease Investigators on MCDPH protocols, processes, and best practices
- Collaborates with local, state, regional, and national-level partners to maintain and improve public health surveillance systems, data quality, and situational awareness
- Participates in emergency preparedness exercises, contributes to enhanced surveillance activities, and responds to incidents of public health significance, as assigned
Working Conditions
- Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
- Ability to exert up to 10 lbs. occasionally or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time
