We Require
Three years of experience performing responsible clerical or administrative duties
High School Diploma or GED
Post-secondary education may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
We Also Value
Two or more years of program coordination or case management experience
One or more years of extensive public contact experience that includes interacting with citizens under stressful conditions, advising the public of laws, rules, or ordinances related to entitlement or government
Familiarity with Arizona Statute and Administrative Code regarding Vital Records and Funeral Service mandates
Ability to deal with traumatic subject matter constantly, as this position coordinates disposition for deceased individuals and will be located at our OVR satellite office located within the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner.

Job Contributions
Apply specialized working knowledge and the Arizona Revised Statutes, Arizona Administrative Codes, policies, and procedures regarding eligibility and decedent disposition services to perform intake, coordinate referral services, and determine program eligibility
Interview, counsel, and guide applicants, vendors, and stakeholders regarding government entitlement eligibility and other alternatives and assist with outside resource information
Address high-volume customer inquiries and participate in ongoing training, including contract vendor and staff orientation to ensure program and contract compliance
Coordinate supportive processes from case initiation through determination and file closure via electronic time tracking, case documentation, and program-related automated data management
Provide consultation and training to funeral homes, healthcare facilities, public partners, and stakeholders regarding the vital registration and indigent decedent services process
Oversee interment services at White Tanks Cemetery and the National/ State VA Cemetery of AZ and ensure all activities are within compliance and barriers are addressed in an expedient manner
Properly document, photograph, secure, and appropriately purge all personal property of decedents referred to the CIDS program within established guidelines and timeframes
Comply with secure data records retention policies, HIPAA guidelines, and PII policies and maintain strict compliance with the management and recording of all vital records and indigent decedent services data set forth by the State of Arizona
Working Conditions
The position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs. occasionally or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time
Must secure and maintain an Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card and complete a background check
Must possess or can obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire
Within one month of hire, all employees will be required to provide evidence of immunity or receive immunizations for vaccine-preventable illnesses for any position within the Maricopa County Department of Public Health; required immunizations include MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Tdap (whooping cough and diphtheria), Varicella (chickenpox), and annual Influenza; some positions require a Hepatitis B vaccine and/or a Tuberculosis test
