In this position, you'll engage in every facet of procurement, encompassing professional services, construction, supplies, services, and capital equipment acquisitions. You'll also oversee and participate in every aspect of the procurement process, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to meet their needs and drive strategic initiatives.

We Require
Three years of supervisory experience, including three years of contract management, procurement, or purchasing experience
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Public Administration, Purchasing, Materials Management, or a related field
We Also Value
Experience in a public or non-profit setting
Experience in Construction procurement and contract administration
Experience managing Job Order Contracts or Construction Manager at Risk contracts
Job Contributions
Responsible for procurement staff workload assignment and monitoring, performance measurement, training, and hiring, emphasizing proficient contract delivery and excellent customer service
Representing the Flood Control District in all procurement matters with professionalism and sound judgment, ensuring the department's purchasing activities are carried out appropriately according to the County Procurement Code

Review and procure construction and professional service contracts, contract amendments, work assignments, change orders, payments, and related technical and budget documents for completeness
Coordinates the needs of all the Divisions, prioritizing procurement to best meet the District's mission and goals
Creates/updates procurement policies, processes, and procedures
Working Conditions
CAPA certification within 6 months of hire
Exerting up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly OR requires walking or standing to a significant degree
The position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
Eligible for hybrid flexibility after a brief training period
