About The Position
This position performs application support at tier two and three levels both independently and with assistance from other information technology (IT) professionals of systems, including web servers, file/print services, and Active Directory, in addition to the storage utilized by these systems. You will work with and maintain Active Directory accounts, security groups, group policies, server-based shared directories, and user permissions. In this role, you will also provide on-call support based on a rotation and apply necessary patches during the established patch window that occurs once a month on the weekend. Other responsibilities include installing, configuring, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining server-class software and hardware, including file servers and load-balanced applications. With limited supervision, you will install, configure, and support various line-of-business applications.
You will interface with appropriate individuals to coordinate installations and maintenance of client-server applications, maintain backup systems, and ensure backups are successfully completed, periodically tested, and in compliance with best practices. As needed, you will restore files, directories, objects, complete servers, etc., from backups. You will work with outside contracted vendors for additional hardware and software support. You will collaborate with Network Engineers to ensure server room resources connect to the Enterprise network. In this role, you will make critical decisions involving the use of limited resources in an effort to repair and restore services during system interruptions and outages, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and participate in a 24 x 7 on-call rotation as required.

- Five years of experience administering, configuring, managing, installing, and troubleshooting VMware, PowerShell, AWS, Azure, Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 operating systems, IIS Web Applications, Active Directory, and SAN (Storage Area Network) systems
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a closely related field, or a technology-related discipline
- An equivalent combination of related post-secondary education and/or work-related experience may substitute for the education requirements on a year-for-year basis
- Ten years of experience in administering, configuring, managing, installing, and troubleshooting Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 operating systems, IIS Web Applications, Active Directory, and SAN (Storage Area Network) systems
- Experience working with VMware, PowerShell, AWS, and Azure
- Certifications in Microsoft Server Operating Systems, VMware, AWS, or Azure
- Install, operate, maintain, and administer Windows Server /2016/2019/2022 operating systems and associated roles and features
- Install, operate, maintain, and administer data center hardware, including Dell PowerEdge Servers, Dell PowerStore, EMC NetWorker, and Coheisty backup systems
- Administer AWS and Azure-hosted data center environments, including backup and DR services
- Administer Microsoft IIS, including managing IIS Web applications and associated components
- Configure IIS Web Server security, including Authentication, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), and URL Authentication Rules
- Perform expedited root cause analysis and escalate the issue to the appropriate teams when necessary
- Administer VMware virtual data center environment, including backup and DR services
- Collaborate with vendors and internal technical teams to resolve issues
- Monitor network resources, usage, and performance. Monitor assigned systems and applications to maintain performance
- Take proactive steps to improve performance when necessary
- Escalate issues to management
- Create and document policies and procedures, installation instructions, configuration guides, and other relevant documentation as needed to help maintain a knowledge base for the team
- Participate in technical on-call services and off-hours work when required
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Mostly in an office setting in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Requires long periods of sitting while completing computer activities. Ability to lift boxes up to 25 pounds and carry, push, or pull up a distance of 100 feet
