General Description
Assistant Percussion Instructor falls under the direct supervision of the High School Band Director. The Assistant Percussion Instructor works directly with the band director to develop and maintain a successful percussion program, both as an element of the marching band, and as a separate unit in the winter Indoor Percussion season.
Responsibilities
- Work with students .
- Collaborate with the band director to write and design effective performance shows.
- Assists with the writing and arranging percussion music.
- Assists with leading effective rehearsals in a positive, professional environment, focusing on equality, engagement, and excellence.
- Attend all performances and competitions.
- Interacts with students, parents, and other instructors in a professional manner.
- Assists with the management percussion equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience performing and teaching percussion instruments
- Experience performing and/or teaching in a competitive circuit.
- Flexibility in meeting the needs of students from a variety of backgrounds and abilities.
- Strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
