POSITION DESCRIPTION: Bookstore Clerk
REPORTS TO: Principal
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt; Classified Level 5; 10 Month Position, 40 hours a week
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision, to do a variety of moderately difficult clerical work in the accounting, ordering, processing, and circulation of school materials; to take charge of a school textbook depository, issue textbooks to students and maintain accurate textbook inventory records; maintain student activities accounting and to do related work as required.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES: (essential functions)
- Maintains student activities account and accounts receivable
- Provide confidential administrative support.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Clerical procedures associated with receiving, sorting, circulating, and maintaining accurate inventory records of textbooks and other instructional materials
- Knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and software applications.
- Knowledge of report preparation and records management principles.
- Skill in customer service practices.
- Skill in communicating both orally and in writing.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma and two (2) years office experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience that provide the required knowledge and skills. Bilingual preferred. Able to perform the following physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation: critical sensory requirements include general vision, corrected to 20/20, hear or listen in the normal range (corrected) and speak and give directions clearly. Able to walk, sit, stand, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, lift (exerting force up to 50 pounds).
