POSITION DESCRIPTION: Student Worker- Communication Intern
REPORTS TO: Director - Communications
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 9-Month Work Calendar, Part-time Up to 20 hours a week. Compensation Arizona Minimum Wage
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: To provide support to the District Office. Assisting with planning, events and other designated tasks.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES: (essential functions)
- Help coordinate and represent MUSD at special events (may include evenings and weekends).
- Help manage and maintain the school district's social media accounts
- Assist in creating content for various communication channels such as the school district website, social media platforms, newsletters, and email communications.
- Provides support to distributing internal and external communications to school staff and administrators to keep them informed about district news
- Ensuring that all data entry tasks are completed in a timely manner to support communication activities and meet project deadlines
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of general safety rules and techniques.
- Knowledge of prop and scenic prop construction.
- Knowledge and experience with scenic artistry
- Knowledge of theatrical staging techniques, materials, equipment, and facilities.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
- Skill in the use of personal computers and related software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to perform the following physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation: critical sensory requirements include general vision, corrected to 20/20, hear or listen in the normal range (corrected) and speak and give directions clearly. Able to walk, sit, stand, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, lift (exerting force up to 50 pounds), carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 125 lbs.
