Premier printing and marketing company in MA is searching to hire an experienced Purchasing Agent/Paper Buyer.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies for the company, nationwide; assess, manage and mitigate risks.
- Search for cost-effective purchases and develop new supply base relationships.
- Purchase inks and supplies needed for print production with the focus on commercial print paper buying.
- Work within the print schedule to ensure products are available to meet production deadlines.
- Research material sourcing opportunities and analyze alternate purchasing options for existing materials or substitute items
- Work with vendors on pricing and lead times.
- Update and maintain spreadsheets and tracking information.
- Inventory management.
Qualifications include:
- Minimum 3-5 years of commercial print paper buying experience.
- Good overall knowledge and understanding of a variety of paper grades, weights and finishes.
- Commercial print estimating experience a plus.
- Proven negotiation skills and successful track record of achieving cost out initiatives.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, multi-tasking, and communication skills.
- Proficient on MS Excel is required.
- Able to think outside the box if substitutions are necessary.
