Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience. Prior experience analyzing data and utilizing RtI/MTSS procedures
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Supporting and facilitating the school’s implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework to increase learning outcomes for students.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitates the implementation of MTSS across grade/department levels.
- Ensures processes and procedures are implemented to provide tiered academic and behavior support to all students.
- Facilitates professional development, as needed, to provide Focused and Intensive Interventions with ?delity.
- Monitors Education Plans and Progress Monitoring data for students receiving Focused/504 interventions.
- Facilitates effective and time effcient problem-solving/student support and SST meetings. Ensures accurate Ed Plan/SST records are maintained in student information system.
- Maintains a monthly log of students who are receiving intervention at the SST level. Maintains SST records within the guidelines set forth by FERPA and adhere to the district’s Records Retention Schedule and transfer procedures.
- Completes and submit required reports to the District MTSS Coordinator in a timely manner.
- Collaborates with teachers and other stakeholders
- Collaborates with school based staff including but not limited to ESOL teachers, SLPs, 504 Facilitators and behavior interventionists to ensure the whole child is considered when determining a student’s need for and type of intervention/support.
- For students not meeting grade level academic/behavioral expectations, provides guidance and support to teachers:
- in the use of problem identification and fidelity tools
- data-based problem solving
- selection and coordination of evidenced based intervention
- data collection and analysis of response to intervention for students
- Communicates effectively with classroom teachers to ensure consistency in implementing academic and behavior interventions.
- Attends IEP and 504 meetings and actively participate in the determination of eligibility and if eligible, the development of a 504 plan or an IEP.
- Respects and maintains con?dentiality.
- Collaborates with the District MTSS Coordinator to identify and vet evidenced-based strategies and interventions that aid in providing focused and intensive levels of support to students not meeting grade-level academic and behavior expectations.
- Attend all promotion/retention meetings for students transitioning as needed
- Facilitate process for all direct parent referrals.
- Oversee all 504 coordinators and respond to all initial 504 request, beginning the initial process before assigning a coordinator.
- Completes other tasks assigned by the principal.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
- Knowledge of best practices and current research regarding MTSS/RtI/504.
- Knowledge of relevant research and evidence-based practices regarding academic and behavior intervention.
- Knowledge of academic assessments and how to utilize assessment results to identify areas of need and monitor progress.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point and school information systems or data management programs.
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate in writing and verbally with school personnel as well as parents and students.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities independently and effectively on a daily basis.
- Ability to make decisions, solve problems and recommend solutions in a constructive manner.
- Ability to utilize a data management system to store, query and disaggregate data for analysis.
- Ability to analyze assessment data and communicate results clearly to a lay audience.
Physical Demands:
Vision, hearing and verbal communication are essential factors in performing required tasks, duties, and responsibilities. Frequent movement from classroom to classroom is required. Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds, stand and walk for long periods of time. The individual must meet deadlines and interact professionally with other workers.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. The employee may face many interruptions and shifting priorities day to day.
