POSITION TITLE:
After School and Before School Assistant Instructor, Marietta Community School Program
RESPONSIBLE TO:
Onsite School ASP/BSP Program Supervisor- Marietta Community School
JOB CLASSIFICATION:
Classified Position.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides supervision and supports to the students in the ASP/BSP programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High School Graduated or GED required
Certifications/License Required:
- CPR and First Aid Certification (completed within 90 days from hire date)
- 10 Hours online Health and Safety training as required by Bright from the Start (completed within 90 days of hire date)
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
- Develops, plans and implements instructional and enrichment activities for the students.
- Submits activity plans to the ASP/BSP Site Supervisor and the ASP/BSP Program Coordinator
- Coordinates with ASP/BSP Site Supervisor and ASP/BSP Program Coordinator to request permission for supply purchases.
- Supervises and instructs students in the ASP/BSP programs and during daily planned activities.
- Manages student behavior within assigned group and accurately and quickly reports incidents to Supervisor onsite.
- Monitors and maintains accurate records within the attendance App on the program iPad when working the checkout desk. Follows the daily schedule set forth by the ASP/BSP Supervisor. Helps plan and implement activities within the framework and schedule provided by ASP/BSP Supervisor.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and follows safety procedures set forth by Marietta Community School and Marietta City Schools.
- Attends required trainings and participates in ASP/BSP staff meetings when necessary.
- Conferences with parents regarding their students behavior within the program.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
Experience:
Successful teaching experience preferred.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Oral and written communication, student management, knowledge of site safety procedures. Must be able to participate in routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities.
