Transport Operator

Job Summary:

The primary objective of the Transport Operator is to execute calls that are given by the Transport Dispatcher without delay. Providing excellent customer service to all Welchel Enterprises’ customers is our number one priority. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of transport operations and a focus on safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute calls given by Transport Dispatcher
• Have knowledge and understanding of Welchel Enterprises customer base and rates.
• Provide service while having a sense of urgency and abiding all safety requirements.
• Provide accurate rates and mileage to customers.
• Ability to take directions from the Fleet Manager.
• Effectively study a map or use GPS to arrive at destination.
• Operate ALL equipment with care including washing/cleaning truck weekly.
• Thoroughly understand and abide by all safety standards.
• Ability to effectively handle pressure.
• Demonstrate responsiveness to requests from others and provide assistance when needed.
• Establish and maintain professional working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public.
• Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures.

Note: Other duties assigned

Requirements:

• Must pass an annual DOT physical and drug screen.
• Must have a valid driver’s license in the state of Georgia.
• NO serious traffic violations in the last 5 years prior to employment or after being hired
