Position Overview: Development Intern (20-30 hours/week, Hybrid)
MPP, the nation’s leading cannabis policy reform advocacy organization, is seeking a driven and detail-oriented intern to support fundraising efforts and assist with administrative tasks to advance the mission of the organization. The ideal candidate will reside in the D.C. region and have the ability to commute to the MPP office on a weekly basis, and demonstrate flexibility in taking on a diverse array of assignments and responsibilities.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with CRM/databases and data entry
- Online research experience
- Nonprofit and policy work experience a plus
- Assist with supporter/donor communications, outreach, engagement, and renewals
- Monitor organizational info@mpp.org email account daily and respond to inquiries
- Monitor MPP D.C. office mailbox and local P.O. Box weekly
- Sort mail and send relevant items to remote Operations Manager
- Data entry and maintenance
- Record donations from checks
- Enter new supporter contact information
- Edit/Remove data
- Merchandise management
- Co-manage Shopify merchant account
- Order fulfillment, inventory, and customer support
- Assist with grants research and grant writing
- Assist with event planning and execution
- Assist with D.C. office supply inventory, clean-up, and disposal
- Conduct research on relevant policy issues
- Draft content and materials for print and digital distribution
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Development and Operations Manager
