Description
Job Summary: The Application Analyst is responsible for end-user support and managing our Electronic Health Record, EPIC/Ochin. This position will work closely with the end user, EMR superusers, IT and quality programs.
Essential Functions: EPIC / OCHIN Management
- Highly involved in supporting and promoting EPIC
- Providing end-user support for EPIC, tracking internal ticket requests, and work with the operational team to maximize the effectiveness and efficiencies of EPIC
- Primary contact person for EPIC, 3rd party interfaces, 3rd party applications, and other it requirements to support EPIC
- Manage support tickets (JIRAs) to ensure prompt resolution by EPIC
- Ensure ES & SP updates are completed when necessary and communicate changes to Marillac staff
End-User Support for Other Applications
- Highly involved in supporting all other applications as needed
- Provides documentation assistance to all staff as needed
- Provides just-in-time end-user support and education reinforcement for application functionality and the investigation and resolution of application issues via in-person support, by phone, or computer remote. Ensures timely resolution
- Assists in determining whether the application issue is a process issue, performance issue, or product issue and collaborates with appropriate staff for research and resolution.
- Makes intended rounds within the facility to inquire of any issues, seek input for change, and observe workflows.
Application Training
- Trains staff on the implementations of new technologies and incorporates into curriculum operational process, policy best practices, and workflows.
- Trains new hires and current associates on information systems and other operational needs which can include and is not limited to soft skill training (such as customer service etc.)
Grant Tracking and Reporting
- Provide reports for identified grants (Colorectal Cancer, Upstream Help, etc.)
- Assist with tracking of measurements as defined by Development Team
Qualifications
Competencies:
- Expert in EPIC
- Proficiency with basic word processing and presentation applications (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite with Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
Required Education/Experience:
- Associate degree in Technology, Medical Insurance Billing and Coding, Health Information Management, or Clinical discipline required
- Two years’ experience in healthcare setting with demonstrated understanding of clinical practice. Specific experience in healthcare informatics required.
- Two years’ experience in process redesign/ workflow analysis, policy and procedure development, training and testing applications required.
- Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required
Preferred Education/ Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Informatics, Business, Computer-related major, or Clinical field preferred
- Current state License or Registry as a Registered Nurse (RN), Respiratory Therapist (RT), Radiology Tech, or other applicable health care discipline preferred
- Proficiency in flow diagramming software (i.e. VISIO) preferred
- One year experience with EPIC Ambulatory in physician practice or Hospital care setting preferred
- Additional Eligibility: Must be current or willing to be vaccinated for the following
- TDAP (up to date booster)
- MMR series
- Varicella
- HEP B series
- Flu Shot
- TB Screening
