What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tasting Room Lead position at Marimar Estate Vineyards & Winery?
Marimar Estate Vineyards & Winery is operated by the mother-daughter team of Marimar and Cristina Torres. The winery sits in the Russian River Valley and produces highly acclaimed Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays as well as Spanish varietals, Albariño, and Tempranillo, from its very own Certified Sustainable vineyards. In celebration of Marimar and Cristina’s Spanish heritage we offer by appointment-only experiences that include a Tapas and Wine Pairing, which highlight recipes from Marimar’s cookbooks, The Spanish Table and The Catalan Country Kitchen.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide a luxury experience to winery guests, while guiding them through our wines and employing demonstrated selling techniques
- Execution and pursuit of excellence in all experiences, events and tours, from the greeting to the farewell
- Participate and help lead tasting room trainings and engage in continuous opportunities for improvement of wine knowledge, food knowledge, sales and service skills
- Representing Marimar Estate in the broader wine community, through occasional outreach and events
- Assist in most aspects of TR management including Lead MOD 2-3 days/week
- Monthly team scheduling with updates as needed
- Weekly and Monthly Reporting to support the team accordingly
- Weekly inventory management
- SOP development, updates to existing SOPs and team SOP training with emphasis on new hire training
- Meticulous maintenance and stocking of collateral and wine storage areas, proactively setting the team up for daily success
- Maintain ongoing cleanliness of tasting facilities and our displayed collateral, establishing a pristine and welcoming environment for all guests
- Other tasks and projects will be assigned during down time, related to the Tasting Room and/or Wine Club
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook a must: POS systems a plus, especially WineDirect
- Weekday and weekend availability
- Some knowledge of fine wines and food preparation, preferred.
- Impeccable attention to detail
Candidates must be over 21 years old.
Pay commensurate with experience.
