GGG- Green Growth Group, a division of MariMed Inc. is seeking a Harvest Manager at our cannabis cultivation, production and processing facility in Illinois!

SUMMARY: The Harvest Manager executes company objectives by managing the harvest, trim, and flower packaging departments including: harvesting, drying, de-stemming, curing, trimming, and flower packaging daily operations, product vault management, post-harvest departmental data entry, real time weight reporting, environmental controls, supply inventory management, coordinate department scheduling, and regulatory compliance that adheres to the regulations established by the Illinois Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act and the Illinois Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Completes Post Harvest duties by assigning employees and providing oversight on work results and performance metrics in real time. The Harvest Manager will ensure they and their staff are always busy laboring in the facility and/or working on selected production tasks as directed by the Leadership Team. The Harvest Manager reports directly to the Director of Production.
  • The Harvest Manager completes the department operational plan by overseeing and managing staff in accomplishing set production results, establishing priorities, monitoring the harvest, trim, and flower packaging progress, workflow, quality controls, coordinating schedules, resolving problems, improving processes, and reports the data to company production summaries daily. In addition, coordinating with fellow departments and following the Leadership Team directives to execute company objectives and job responsibilities.
  • Assists in creation of, follows, and manages end of day department cleaning procedures for the Post Harvest department. Furthermore, the Harvest Manager is responsible for daily break down, cleaning, and sanitizing of harvest, trim, and flower processing and packaging machines & all other filling and department equipment. This includes but not limited to: bud tenders, green broz, rocketbox, scales, tools, and workstations.
  • Maintains and coaches’ staff by training employees on Green Growth Group’s policies, standard operating procedures, and roles. In addition, educates staff to assist in cannabis career development and cultural adaptation.
  • Upholds post-harvest job results through people management by orienting, coaching, and training the staff. This includes conducting the interview process with the Director of Production approval, delivering reviews, and executing disciplinary action with Human Resources. The Harvest Manager will closely monitor and appraise all harvest, trim, and flower packaging staff collectively and individually on job results.
  • Provides department performance metrics, inventory updates, and all post-harvest data by compiling, initiating, organizing, and reviewing production performance records and data sets, specifically Leaf Logix and the METRC seed-to-sale tracking system, as well as all internal company documents. In addition, it is the responsibility of the Harvest Manager to ensure all data is captured accurately and updated in real time.
  • Post-Harvest Manager closely tracks inventory of supplies necessary to complete all sub department duties through the production process; including but not limited to gloves, pruners, clippers, trim bins, labels, isopropyl alcohol, prepackaging, vac seal bags, METRC tags, trash bags, personal protective equipment and other department related operational supplies.
  • Notifies the Leadership Team of additional planning needs in advance of post-harvest duty completion, employee vacations, illnesses, and all other areas relating to department staffing. In addition, reports to the leadership team if potential bottlenecks in fulfillment production and/or forecasting arise.
  • Secures and accounts for all products from harvest to the end flower packaging stages of the process by implementing and abiding by Green Growth Group’s production schedule, inventory tracking, security systems, and safety measures. Harvest Manager provides weekly and monthly inventory reports and is required to maintain the physical inventories in line with internal tracking systems for all harvest, trim, and flower packaging products always.
  • The Harvest Manager is responsible for overseeing the environmental conditions, quality of product and quality assurance of processes within all sub departments and reports discrepancies to the Quality Control Manager and Leadership Team. It is the responsibility of the Harvest Manager to ensure product quality checks and balances occur routinely throughout production operations to packaged products before being sent to market.
  • Upholds inventory standards, post-harvest operations, and customer service experience by working in a collaborative manner, coordinating processes, and enforcing Green Growth Group programs in conjunction with Post Processing Manager, Quality Control Manager, and the Leadership Team. In addition, it is the responsibility of the Harvest Manager to support other Production & facility-wide departments, via themselves or staff, through bottlenecks, downtime, and process changes. Furthermore, this includes assisting the Green Growth Group trim staff in trim operations, participating in the harvest process, packaging flower ops, and any other tasks associated with post-harvest.
  • Always follows good manufacturing procedures.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or Equivalent
  • 2 years of experience in the cannabis industry; focusing specifically on inventory tracking systems
  • Advanced skills in METRC, Leaf Logix, G Suite, and computer systems.

  • Certain situations require that work is completed on weekends, after hours, and holidays.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and push/pull up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to perform the following physical tasks: Periods of prolonged sitting and standing, stooping, stretching, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, performing repetitive motions, and carrying boxes.
