What are the responsibilities and job description for the Revenue Cycle Coordinator position at Marin City Health and Wellness Center?
Summary:
The Revenue Cycle Coordinator works with all departments (medical, dental and behavioral health) to ensure accurate, consistent and timely processes are followed for each patient encounter. The Revenue Cycle Coordinator works with departments to validate daily/weekly/monthly information relating to visits and financial classes. The Revenue Cycle Coordinator must have knowledge of EMR software and general revenue cycle procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist in monitoring Accounts Receivable by service & location
• Assist in monitoring Grant programs, revenue, expense by service & location
• Identify missing eligibility data/registration information in the EHR system
• Prepare daily visit activity report by Location/Service Line/Provider. Research denied claims, and recommend adjustments in coordination with Finance team
• Work with the Finance and Billing team to review billing database trends in claims rejections and resolve these as they occur
• Review patients’ billing statements to ensure accuracy of information
• Confirm and update payment plans for patients who are uninsured and/or underinsured and work with departments to collect payments (for payment plans)
• Establish Sample review of patients by location and service line to confirm eligibility is accurate
• Validate insurance authorization for patients are timely
• Assist payment information to Third Party Vendor as needed
• Assist Third Party billing company in reviewing, reworking, and resubmission of unprocessed claims and general denials to ensure revenue maximization in coordination with Third Party vendor as needed
• Assist billing company in filing and maintaining transmittals for billing and auditing purposes as needed
• Act as liaison between MCHWC and Third-Party billing company, and assist forwarding or communicating to billing company any (billing) correspondence received at MCHWC, with emphasis on items that require follow up (by billing company).
• Maintain high degree of confidentiality and respect in handling all client medical information, and HIPAA compliance

Qualification Requirements:
Education and/or Experience:
• AA degree or equivalent experience in insurance, eligibility and/or billing
• Familiarity with computerized Billing and EMR systems
• Knowledge of Third Party and/or Healthcare billing
• Familiarity with Denti-Cal/Medi-Cal manuals/requirements
• Ability to organize, set priorities, meets deadlines and work independently
• Be able to foresee and address potential problematic situations
• Must have a positive attitude, be a team player, and be able to take directions from supervisor
• Understands and promote the mission, vision, and values of the health center both in the workplace and in the community
Language Skill:
• Must possess excellent organization, writing, and verbal skills
• English proficiency required; Spanish proficiency preferred
Reasoning ability:
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Equipment/Machinery:
Fax machine, copier, personal computer, telephone, calculator, Microsoft Word/Excel, QuickBooks, EHR system, and other software as required.

Salary : $62,000 - $75,000
