place of creative, active learning built around our commitment to developing each
student’s confident voice. Marin Horizon serves about 300 students from toddler
through grade eight and is located in Mill Valley, CA.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Marin Horizon School seeks a warm, innovative, and dynamic music teacher for the
2025–2026 school year. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and
implementing a comprehensive music curriculum, strong classroom management skills,
and a passion for fostering a love of music in students. This role requires excellent
collaboration and communication skills, a flexible and positive attitude, and the vision to
help shape an engaging and inclusive music program.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Curriculum & Instruction
- Teach music appreciation, harmony, and instrumental music (band, orchestra,
- Lead choral instruction and vocal development.
- Encourage students to explore and develop individual musical skills.
- Incorporate a diverse repertoire, including both traditional and contemporary
music, appropriate for various age groups and skill levels.
Program Development & Performance Plan, rehearse, and direct student performances for school and community
- Foster creativity and confidence through musical exploration and performance
opportunities.
Classroom Management & Communication
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress and

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree in related field; master’s degree preferred
- 2 years experience teaching lower school music

SALARY AND BENEFITS
- Anticipated salary range between $74,000 and $100,000 (full-time) depending on
