academic program combined with character-enhancing life skills. Marin Horizon is a
place of creative, active learning built around our commitment to developing each
student’s confident voice. Marin Horizon serves about 300 students from toddler
through grade eight and is located in Mill Valley, CA.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a dynamic Preschool Assistant Teacher who demonstrates a desire
to support the lead Primary teacher in planning and implementing culturally competent
best practices in early childhood education, integrated, and whole-child approach while
also developing their own pedagogical skills through planning and teaching. Assistant
Teachers work in the classroom from 9:00am-2:00pm and transition to Aftercare support
from 2:00-5:30pm. A minimum of 3-6 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units are
preferred and a willingness to work toward 6 ECE units during employment is a
requirement. The ideal candidate has experience working with preschool-aged children
in a diverse and inclusive environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with lead teacher in planning and implementation of hands-on,
- Support classroom management and maintain a safe, inclusive environment for
- Participate in activities, including Back to School Night and parent conferences
- Flexibility, professionalism, and proficiency with learning support systems
- Engage and supervise students in Aftercare, fostering a safe, nurturing, and

- Good conflict resolution and communication skills with students and adults
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Minimum of 3-6 ECE units or a willingness to work toward 6 units while employed
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
- 1-3 years of teaching experience in preschool preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to culturally inclusive teaching practices
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
- Must possess a collaborative, growth mindset intent on refining teaching
practices as well as a desire to work with and learn from adults and students
alike
SALARY RANGE
- $24.00-$26.00 per hour
