JOB TITLE: DIRECTOR OF AUXILIARY PROGRAMS

REPORTING TO: Head of School

JOB TYPE: Full-time, Exempt

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday (in-person, on campus)

SALARY RANGE: $85,000-$95,000 a year


POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a key player at the school, you will lead the organization's Auxiliary Programs. You will balance strategic thinking and hands-on work. A key initiative will be to strategically improve and design the Auxiliary Programs: After-Care, After-School Enrichment Programs, and Summer Camp. This position will also manage Recess Duty and support the school's needs for Transportation, Carpooling, School Events, Field Trips, and other similar tasks.


EXPERIENCE LEVEL:

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in managing operations of auxiliary programs. High expertise in youth development programming, demonstrating current and thorough knowledge of regulations, applicable laws, trends, best practices, and new developments in the field.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, Google applications, database management, website development, and digital media.
  • Well-developed collaborative work style; ability to interact with employees at all levels in the community. Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly and regularly adjust strategy based on the school's needs.
  • Expertise in marketing Auxiliary Programs using a variety of technology resources. Strong financial acumen with demonstrated ability to develop and manage program budgets.
  • Excellent project management skills. Knowledge and skill to negotiate and manage contracts.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and manage the daily operation of the Auxiliary Programs including serving as the director of the after school program and summer camp. Provide a caring and enriching environment for all students.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire all auxiliary program staff and independent contractors within school recruiting and hiring policies. Coordinate and conduct annual performance evaluations of all auxiliary programs' staff and independent contractors.
  • Working with Division Heads, develop new programs to ensure that auxiliary programs are aligned with the school's mission and meet the needs of families. Continually explore innovative opportunities for leveraging the intellectual and physical assets.
  • Provide ongoing supervision and support of all faculty and staff of auxiliary programs. Coordinate registration, billing, and the collection of payments for auxiliary programs.
  • Develop and execute business strategies and create programs to increase non-tuition revenue. Work with the Head of School and CFOO to ensure the fiscal health of auxiliary programs including planning and budgeting.
  • Seek to identify partnerships that may enhance auxiliary program potential. Report on results and provide reports on enrollment and staffing. Monitor revenues and expenses for bottom-line performance across all activities and programs.
  • Maintain compliance with governmental regulations in all Auxiliary programs.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and off-campus organizations.
  • Manage transportation with outside providers and manage the school's fleet service. Maintain vehicles in safe and clean condition for daily trips.
  • Oversee campus facility use by creating policies, protocols, and procedures beyond the regular school day.
  • Develop and oversee all safety and health protocols in coordination with the school risk management plan. Work with Division Directors and the School Nurse to ensure that all program staff are trained in health and safety policies.
  • Seek and analyze input from parents, students, and staff regarding the quality of their program experience. Establish routines, provide positive guidance, and enforce policies and procedures, including disciplinary policies.
  • In conjunction with Communications and Marketing, develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy for all auxiliary programs. Ensure that all auxiliary programs have an effective and accurate Internet presence including the website, social media, and digital marketing, and coordinate the publishing and advertising of program catalogs, brochures, and schedules.
  • Present at open houses, and camp fairs, and promote the programs to prospective and enrolled students. Write and distribute regular communications among auxiliary program constituencies. Write program updates in school communications.
  • Coordinate Community School Events (e.g., Welcome Carnival, Harvest Festival, Grandparents and Special Friends Day, etc. as needed).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
