Overall Responsibility

The Yardman position is responsible for cleaning toters, containers, compactors, debris boxes and truck cleanout.

This position reports to the Operations Manager, and takes direction from the Operations Manager, Shop personnel, Supervisors, and other employees as appropriate.

This is a Union-represented position

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Clean toters and containers.
• Build and label toters.
• Steam clean toters, compactors, containers, debris boxes, and truck cleanout area.
• Make sure wash area are clean throughout the day and end of day.
• Drive and move various equipment around the yard.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures in accordance with the current Code of Safe Practices.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

· Must be physically mobile within a yard environment for indefinite periods of time. May involve working in inclement weather. This position requires strong and continuous physical activity.

· Involves working in a waste and hazardous waste collection, disposal, recovery, recycling environment. The candidates must be able to understand and follow safety protocols and procedures.

· Involves working in an environment with farm animals and plant materials.

· Involves sitting, standing, walking, pushing and pulling, reaching above shoulder level frequently, lifting and carrying up to 70 pounds and occasionally heavier weights, using both hands for simple and firm grasping, climbing stairs and fine finger manipulation.

· Requires clarity of hearing.

· Requires the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, in person, in writing and by telephone.

· Must be able to safely operate commercial and other vehicles in the yard.

Training and Experience:

· Class C or higher drivers license.

· High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Travel:

No travel is expected for this position.

Pay:

Hourly pay with full benefits.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.30 per hour
