Marin is a quickly growing skincare brand in Portland, ME seeking an ambitious, experienced Senior Manager of Paid Social to join our high-performing, purpose-driven team. We’re a four-year-old startup that creates Glycoprotein-powered skincare products for people with dry, damaged, eczema-prone skin, using a regenerative protein found in lobster as the key ingredient. Building upon explosive YoY DTC growth, we’re excited to welcome a hungry marketer to be instrumental in scaling our creative, data-driven paid social engine.

About the Role

Joining the team at a stage of rapid growth, you’ll own the paid funnel, bringing a perfect blend of quantitative and qualitative to scale a performance-driven, highly creative paid social machine. Together with our Founders, marketing, creative and media-buying team, you’ll co-develop strategy and be ultimately responsible for the start-to-finish execution of paid social campaigns across Meta, TikTok, Google, YouTube, and emerging platforms to drive rapid, efficient, profitable growth.


This role is as tactical as it is strategic; on a daily basis you’ll be hands-on concepting new ad creatives, making, sourcing and edits assets, developing and optimizing post-click experiences from landing pages creation to conversion rate optimization, and everything in between to exceed ambitious revenue targets.


We’re looking for someone who lives and breathes paid social – a hungry, quant and qual performance marketer at heart, obsessed with testing, learning, and iterating, with a deep understanding of storytelling, social, modern advertising and building a high-growth, profitable DTC brand. Your ability to blend data-driven decision-making with creative storytelling will be the key to driving Marin’s continued explosive growth.


About You

You are a paid social powerhouse with an analytical brain and out-of-the-box creative eye. You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and are proactive, with a radical bias for action. You possess a deep understanding of both creative and analytical metrics, with a clear understanding of how ad positioning, psychology and editing ultimately layers up to performance targets, LTV and the P&L.  It’s not about just “spending marketing dollars” for you - it’s thoughtfully spending dollars as effectively as possible with a holistic appreciation for brand, creative, retention, growth rate and profitability.


With a strong background in DTC marketing, and the hunger to own a critical revenue-driving function of a high-growth business, you’re the kind of person who:

  • Nerds out over hooks, view-through-rates, CTAs and discovering a new ad style, as much as you do CPCs, CTRs, ROAS, MER and LTV
  • Has played a significant role in scaling brands from 7 to 9 figures using paid social.
  • Is obsessed with testing – from creative angles to audience segments to landing pages.
  • Is a proactive “do-er” who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment where you’re empowered to take ownership and drive results. 
  • Isn’t afraid to get tactical and “in the weeds”, able to develop scrappy content to fuel the machine at the drop of a hat, and be the video editor to bring creatives to the finish line.
  • Understands how to balance brand and performance, crafting ads that sell while staying true to Marin’s mission and identity.
  • Screenshots ad creatives on a daily basis and clicks-through to dissect funnels.

Position Reports To

Chief Executive Officer


Responsibilities

  • Own, manage, and scale paid social across Meta, TikTok, Google, and emerging platforms to meet monthly revenue objectives, optimize efficiency and maximize ROAS.
  • Co-develop, execute and iteratively test full-funnel paid media strategies (ad creative and post-click), including acquisition, retargeting, and conversion.
  • Work closely with the CEO, Founders, Senior Manager of Marketing, Senior Brand Designer and Media buyer to ideate, create/source, edit and test high-performing video and static ad creatives across channels
  • Analyze creative, test and campaign performance and translate insights into actionable strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to test new channels, ad formats, and technologies to drive incremental revenue growth.
  • Weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting on data, results, and strategy recommendations to Leadership team, Board and stakeholders.


Experience and Skills Required

  • 5-7 years of experience in paid social performance marketing, with a proven track record of managing and scaling DTC brands.
  • Deep expertise with Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, Shopify, Google Analytics, Motion, Canva or Figma, video editing apps and website page builders.
  • Strong analytical mind with the ability to interpret data, draw insights, and take action.
  • Experience managing $500k monthly ad budgets, with a deep understanding of how to scale spend profitably, particularly what’s required on the creative side. 
  • A keen understanding of creative strategy, with the ability to brief, ideate, and optimize high-performing ad creatives.
  • Moderate video editing and graphic design skills necessary to generate winning ads.
  • Hands-on experience with landing page testing, CRO, and post-click optimization.
  • A scrappy, resourceful, “everything is figure-outable” attitude – able to operate independently while collaborating effectively with a small but mighty team.
  • A positive, growth mindset – obsessed with testing, learning, and improving every day.


Nice to Have:

  • Experience in beauty, skincare, or CPG DTC brands.
  • Knowledge of Shopify, Shopify apps and third-party attribution tools like Triple Whale or Northbeam.
